PAYSON PARK PRESCHOOL
365 BELMONT ST, BELMONT, MA 02478
Welcome to the Payson Park Preschool!
Here are a few guidelines and information to facilitate your
child’s transition from home to school.
HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR PREVENTING THE SPREAD OF COVID 19
The program ensures that the staff is adequately supported is implementing protocols, including training and supplies.
All required Health and Safety EEC trainings for providers and educators have been followed closely by all staff members.
Every morning the preschool staff will make a sanitizing and disinfecting solution from bleach and water which will be used throughout the day on toys, table, materials and all areas of the classrooms where children touch and play. At the end of the day, a vacuum with disinfecting solution will be used on the carpeted areas which the children and staff have used. Sanitizing solution with no less than 70% alcohol will be used throughout the day, especially when on the playground where access to hand washing is not possible. All children will be washing hands throughout the day: upon arrival, before eating and after toileting.
Each child has an individual labeled hook for their backpack in the hallway, which is placed 6 feet away from one another. This way, various items (backpack, lunch boxes, clothing) will not touch.
Each classroom will have clearly labeled containers with toys to encourage individual games and promote social distancing. These items will be disinfected after each use. On the carpet floor, a clear, age appropriate sign with children’s names or a sign to guide the children to their seats to promote the 6 feet distance when playing. The tables will have labels for each child to find one to sit down at a chair and eat or play with the appropriate distance from another child.
All teachers will wear masks when they are unable to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet. For example, during story time when children sit down on assigned spots around the carpet for circle time, teachers will remove the mask while reading the book. However, when teachers assist children with changing clothes or going to the bathroom, masks will be put on.
Parents or guardians must wear masks during arrival and pick up time outside the building right in front of the preschool entrance. The mask must always remain on their face while interacting with teachers. Children over three are encouraged but NOT required to wear face covering. Please bring two masks so we can both, teach and learn about safety with our children. It will be a learning process for everyone.
The Payson Park Preschool provides a developmentally appropriate program designed to foster an enthusiasm for learning, encourage curiosity, and build a positive sense of self. We provide an environment that develops the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of each child.
The Payson Park Preschool offers three, four, or five-day programs. Flexible schedules are accommodated subject to availability and enrollment. Extended Day (until 1:00pm or 2:00pm or 3:00pm) and Full Day (until 5:00pm) are available upon request to accommodate parents’ needs.
Children must be 21 months to be admitted to the Payson Park Preschool. Children may be enrolled in school at any time during the year, based on availability. Payson Park Preschool is adding School Age (SA) or K-2 children starting with July 1st 2021.
Our fourth classroom composition will be set up in place by middle of August, 2021 based on the summer enrollment:
PreK/School Age from 3.10 years old and up
Based on enrollment of School Age children in the group, the young 4 years old children might be put separately in another class called Preschool II, so the cut out age will be 5 years old to be in the PreK/SA room.
Preschool from 2.9 years old and up
Based on enrollment, we might have a 3 years old class called Preschool I and a 4 years old class called Preschool II.
Mixed Age (Toddler-Preschool) 1.9 to 3 years old
Toddlers from 1.9 (21 months) to 2.9 years old
Some children might be chronologically ready for the three classrooms, but developmentally they might be considered as better fitting in the younger or older group, therefore the composition of each classroom is always flexible!
There is a registration fee of $100.00. This fee is non-refundable and is not applied toward tuition. It is due with the application and retains a place for your child in the school. A tuition deposit of $200.00 will also be required which will be deducted from your June’s tuition.
In case your child leaves the program before the end of the school year in the month of June, then Payson Park Preschool requires a 60 days notice in order for the $200.00 tuition deposit to be returned. Also, in case your child is missing one or more months of preschool which requires no payment of tuition, please keep in mind how the $200.00 tuition deposit will no longer protect your child’s place in the program. If the tuition is being paid during the absent month(s), your child’s place in the program is still under the protection of the $200.00 tuition deposit.
Second sibling tuition receives a 15% discounted tuition at Payson Park Preschool. A family who recommends Payson Park Preschool to the families in our community and gets us a registration receives a 10% discount of that month's tuition.
Additionally, there is a $150.00/month for children enrolled in the summer program. There is no tuition deposit of $200.00 required for families who are enrolling only for our summer program.
